I'm trying not to get emotionally attached to this brooch but it's quite a challenge! It is literally a Mountain of Crystal stones Put together in an amazing, sparkling composition. It measures 1 7/8" in diameter & is going to get you Many Compliments ;0)
The setting is a closed back style, Gold tone ? with each & every stone soldered in as well as being prong-set. Those precious babies are NOT going anywhere!
Please note the "puddling" of solder on the back of the setting. That's a GOOD thing ;0)
Many European jewelers, back in the day, did not mark their pieces as to maker, nor as to Precious Metal content. I truly feel as though this brooch may be of that group.
It's remarkably well made & each stone is cut with precision to get the best facet that will produce the best Sparkle & Shine. Simply said. All crystals are present & tight. Gorgeous~~~~
The locking safety clasp works as intended .
Over all, a Beautiful, quality, well made piece that is both appropriate for gifting or to add to your own collection of Vintage Jewelry. I will ship in an organza Gift Bag either way~~
