These are self pollinating meaning you don't need 2 trees to get fruits this Cherry tree pollinates itself. Good for those with not enough room to grow a lot of them.

Any trees can be started in a pot... It's a big misconception that some trees have to only be planted in the ground. Now If you want a tree to reach it's full height and produce mass amounts yes you need to plant it in the ground. Planting Trees in pots only limits how big they grow and amount of fruiting you will get off a tree. Mind you saying this when a tree gets older in a pot, I have known some to break the pots and keep trying to grow. My friend planted a pecan tree in a pot had it in there for 10 years. It did produce a light crop of nuts but it was really small crop. But once it hit 10 years it broke the pot she had it in trying to spread out. She ended up finally having to put it in the ground outside.
