Hi, Thanks for your question! it is not waterproof. Here is more info in case anyone was wondering. While not water proof, it does protect baby from windchill and insects like mosquitos and bees and flies. It is UV resistant! It blocks 97.5% of UV rays. It comes with a handy mesh bag to store the Snooze Shade in a baby bag or medium-large handbag. Very handy for mom and baby!
