Yes they do survive longer than other fish would with out an air pump and filter, only because you change the water more.(thus fresh oxy) (they need less in water oxy than other types of fish) BUT do live longer with the extra......yeah they are dirtier but thats because of their urine and outer scale slime also emeno rocks help cut down probs in the tank aswell..
yes exactly. i was changing my tank so often it was stressing the little bugger. and i didn't know at first about their urine being filled with ammonia. (we were trying everything to help, medicines and such, but the skin got a sore, before i found out about needing additional water conditioner for goldfish to neutralize the ammonia. he passed away. lesson learned.) We decided to get a 20 gallon tank with heat, filter and air and get some warm water fish.
It is the tank only. it is a round tank, about 9 inches tall and a diameter of 9 in across. it has a clear inner tank which fits inside a white and grey covering with holes to view from different angles and has a clear plastic top, they are made so that if you have more than one (i originally purchased at walmart.) they can stack together. I will add a bonus if it reaches 2000 of rainbow gravel (pink, blue, green and purple) though!
