There's an old Navajo legend about Turquoise. They believed it was one of the best protection stones they could wear. They said, if you wear a piece of Turquoise for a long time and one day you look down to see that the stone has been broken, it's because "the stone took a hit for you". Whatever was trying to injure you was blocked by your stone. I have had this happen with two stones over the years. One was turquoise and the other was an amethyst crystal inside a gold wire cage. The cage wasn't damaged, but my crystal was broken in half.Can't explain that any other way really.
A ring I had, that was very heavy Navajo silver with a large chunk of Turquoise, very well protected by the silver encasing it, I looked down one day to find it cracked almost exactly in half. My life was having some very difficult ups and downs and looking back, things could have gotten a lot worse, but instead I found my soul mate. Now I understand how and why this happens.
