The leaves of the Sensitive plant (Mimosa pudica) respond to being touched,the speed of the response depends on the magnitude of the stimulus. Hitting the leaf hard with the flick of a finger will cause the leaf to close in the blink of an eye whereas a gentle touch will result in a slower response.These plants grow wild and become a nuisance in some areas, they also have quit small thorns. I only grow them in the house. The leaves are lovely and the little pink fluffy blooms are cute. My grandchildren are amazed.
