Description

The listing, VINTAGE 1930'S SHELL TRINKET CASE has ended.

This clam shell trinket box is from the 1930's to the 1940's. I know they started being used in the depression.
It is hand made from a clam shell. And has a vintage brass facing.
It opens and closes smoothly.
It measures 2 1/2" x 2 1/2 ".

In it's day these were used for compacts, chewing tabacco, or a case for pills and many other things.

I have not cleaned or have tried to clean this pretty clam shell because I wouldn't want to damage it it any way.
The shell itself looks to be in good condition. I see no chips or cracks in it or scratches.

The brass is still in good condition but needs to be cleaned. The brass does show age.

Would you "stuff" it with Tylenol or ibuprofen or some type of pill to see how many it will hold please?

12 round aspirins but to be safe and not stuff it I would do 10 depending on how large the pills are. Hope this helps in answering your question.
Thank you for your question,
Linda

Should I get this precious item, I need to tell you that I am leaving town--going out of state and won't be back until around December 9th. That would be the earliest I can get you a money order. Would that be a problem?

I bought it from the Rescue Mission Thrift store in San Diego. I had never seen one of these before and I also thought it was unusual.
