The listing, Bakelite Handle VINTAGE 1930s SYRUP / Molasses / Honey DISPENSER Pourer has ended.
Up for auction is a vintage 1930s syrup pourer with a green Bakelite handle. Patent number is on the underside of the handle.
The patent for this dispenser top was filed on Oct. 14, 1930. The patent was granted Oct. 25, 1932. The patent was still pending when this was produced, so I would put it at 1931 or so. I know my mom used it in the 1930s on.
It's in excellent used condition. On the glass part, there are actually starbursts (8 points) deeply cut into the glass (considered etching?), and I never see another like this particular model.
For the chrome top, others like this one, people have labeled Dripcut. This is identical to theirs, but I do not see the name "Dripcut" anywhere on the top. That said, all parts of the top still work well, and it is still shiny.
4" tall, and just a smidge past 2-1/2" at the widest point of the glass. If you collect syrups, this is a nice one!
