If you are worried about an expired code, know that I have used 48 hour codes that were over 4 years old with no issue in the past. I have never come across an expired code unless it was a promo code that specifically stated an expiration date. The passes you get with new games (like I am auctioning off in my auctions) should be good for a long time (again, unless otherwise stated).

Besides, the seller can always test the code on a physical xbox 360 unit with a Silver account beforehand to verify it. (If you try to test it on your computer on the xbox live web-site, the code will be redeemed immediately, but if you do it on your xbox 360 it will ask for confirmation before redeeming the code...so you can test it and ensure it is valid. That is what I do with all my codes before auctioning them off to ensure they work as advertised.)

BTW, if you test the code on your console, you MUST use an Xbox Live Silver account (just like if you were to redeem it, it would need to be on a Silver account)...or else it will show up as invalid since 48 hour gold passes are not stackable. Just FYI because I have had people tell me my codes were invalid in the past only to have to remind them that they must use/test it on a Silver account.
