The listing, Military Challenge Coin Army First Infantry The Big Red One has ended.
Dad served our country for 26 years in the Army, so you can imagine what he saw and experienced. This is one of his things I feel comfortable enough to part with.
It is a Military Challenge Coin. It is bronze. I do not know the front from the back, but what I think is the front says, "First Infantry Division" at the top, below it says, "The Big Red One". On the left and right side, the Army's Motto; "No Mission Too Difficult", "No Sacrifice Too Great", and between them, along the background ribbon, it finishes with, "Duty First". (choking me up) On the Reverse side above, "34th Armor Regiment", below, "Strong Arm For Victory". The 34th Infantry Regiment & 11th Infantry Regiment consolidated into the 16th Infantry Regiment on 3 March 1896. Th coin you see, is the one you'll receive. I think it's in great condition, but I'm not an expert. (The soldiers photo is just for advertisement and not part of the auction).
