no I have to customize a box or two tape them together I don't keep big boxes like that around takes up to much space. lol

It's going to be a long heavy box I know that much that's why I would have loved to have it picked up this will take some time and work plus I have to get this done when my active two year old takes her nap or it will never get done my little helper. (^_^)

I'm not saying it was flat rate I only said that for you to see in your mind what I was talking about with the sizes of boxes and how they work this item don't fit into that range so if I was to say yeah $28 and then I go in to ship and they say well this item will cost let's say $100 then I would stuck having to pay the extra to ship this when I could have just put it out at the side of the road for free understand what I'm working with? I'm not saying you don't know much about shipping it's just that I've had this happen to me before with online shipping quotes on a smaller item I've shipped so you can understand why I have to do this the right way so that we both know what we're working with.

Sorry for taking so long things just been so crazy with the family, kids and school I've only now had some time to update you on the crib I have both good and bad news, good is I still have the crib, bad would be I would have to have it listed for pickup because to get it to FedEx I would need help taking it there to get the price and back home will be hard without a ride if it was a smaller item I could have taken it on the bus there plus I still got my very active two year old whom I would also have to take with me so I'm stuck with pickup at this point sorry. :-(

USPS website said standard shipping for 70lb box is $28.

one thing you must know about shipping is that they use two thing and that is weight and measurements the price you got would be for an average box they would sell like have you seen the post office flat rate boxes true if you can fit 70 pounds in them the will ship it but you can't change the box shape to fit your item if it's not the same shape as the box that they offer.

The item that has to be shipped is way larger than the box your thinking $28 would pay for I will keep you updated soon as I find a way to pack this crib so we can have the information we need.

Are you sure $28? because I've shipped smaller boxes and the fee was never that low I will have to box it up and take it in to be sure. I've found out the hard way shipping large items on ebay the shipping said one thing then when I went in person to ship it was way more and the money I was paid for the item went all into shipping it and the buyer thought it was funny when I told them I made no money on the sale well it was funny I should have taken it to FedEx and not be lazy.LOL

Sorry they where listed that way to have an even auction weight in order to offer free shipping, remember free shipping only works for the bidder the seller still has to pay postage to ship the item to the winner's address if my shipping fee goes higher it cuts into my other shipping funds of other auctions that I may have to put on hold due to lack of funds, so for everyone's packages to get shipped on time listed auctions can't be changed unless bidder foot the bill.
