The listing, Star Trek Movie has ended.
I just got through watching "The Captains" on Netflix with William Shatner hosting interviews with all the other actors who helped make Star Trek (a show only aired 3 seasons!!!) T H E largest franchise in entertainment history,,, and am glad to share it with my kids. So I'm sharing some new videos I had collected and have multiples of. This is new in the plastic and will be an enjoyed addition to a well put together Star Trek memorabilia since this episode dealt directly with the 'Prime Directive'!
This is an original VHS. This is a 98 movie. Though DVD's were invented in 96 they didn't start to appear regularly until about 99. Until they made a player from $200 to more like $50. Then DVDs grew and VHS fell by the way side.
Info about the movie and its' history. It is the ninth film in the Star Trek film franchise and the second film to feature the cast of the Star Trek Next Generation. The crew of the Enterprise-E rebel against Starfleet after they discover a conspiracy with a species known as the Son'a to steal the Ba'ku's planet for its rejuvenating properties.
Paramount Studios sought a change in pace after the previous film, Star Trek: First Contact. The story's first drafts featured the Romulans, and the Son'a and Ba'ku were introduced in the third draft. Piller revised it and added a subplot involving a romantic interest for Captain Picard. The ending was further revised after test screenings.
Insurrection was the highest-grossing film on its opening weekend, making US$22.4 million. The film made over $70.1 million in the United States and an additional $42.4 million in other territories.
I can offer you this, if you want to watch it I'll send you a new copy that the wrapper has fallen off but is new. If you want it for a historical collectable for your library I'll send you one in the original plastic for value sake.
But do let yourself be excited about owning it on its' original media it came out on. True Trekkie yourself aye
