This "Famous" $300.00 cake actually had its beginning in the 1800's when a family owned and operated company was trying to sell food colorings and extracts. They gave away the recipe with a purchase. There are a lot of variations but this is a hand written one that I found in a pamphlet I purchased at an estate sale.You will receive your recipe through LISTIA (so watch your mail box when the auction has ended).
