Up for auction is this lovely 9K gold filled wedding ring set size 6.5. The large, lovely white zircon is radiant. Four small white gems flank the main stone. Six shiny baguette cut zircons encircle the front of the wedding band.
These are natural stones, gemstones created in a laboratory, or in some cases synthetic.

Gold filled jewelry is gold mixed with with a base metal.
Adding other metals to the mix also allows metallurgists to change the color of gold. You'll find examples of pure gold jewelry, but pure gold is soft and isn't practical for daily wear. Other metals are mixed with it to make it more durable.
