If it is marked 10k it is 10k, yes 24k is the highest quality but is definitely not something you want a ring made out of because it will be too soft which is why most jewelry stores deal more with 10, 14 or 18k gold. 10k may not be pure but the 10k mark means it is solid 10k gold. Chances are the P is the makers mark. Good luck with your auction, I'm sure the credits will shoot up as the days count down especially with real gold, opals and diamonds. Congrats to your daughter for making the changes she needed to and I think it's a wonderful idea to get her something to show her how proud you are for all she has accomplished.

My wedding ring is 24 kt gold. I was married in China and for some reason they will not mix gold with other metals. Their jewelery stores are extremely well regulated by the Chinese government. As everyone knows about all the counterfeit items made in China you will probably never see a fake gold item made in China with a fake stamp on it. Some rules China takes seriously and gold is one of them. If you are caught faking gold there you will die in a Chinese prison. Mr ring is extremely soft and although it is a thick ring I can easily bend it in my hand. I intend to have it melted and mixed with copper and recast. Only then would it be practical to wear daily.

Yes I use to have an Old Perfume Top that was 24kt and t would bend so easy I Loved that Bottol it belonged to my Mom Someone else must have too cause t comeup missing one day I was Sick!! I Notice the Color is allot dfferent too in Solid Gold stuff.

I Love for my nails to Look Nice. Along with Matching I always have to Match. That's Why my nails are always different colors in photos. LOL But, Thanks. actually most companies and jewlers have a mark they put on their pieces. chances are the p would be that mark.

A P is usually for platinum but if it is the same color all of the way thru then it is probably "pure" however I thought they wrote that as 10K P or 14K P...and plated as either GEP or GP. The P could also be the makers mark. Hope this helps. Google jewelry chat marks as there are several information sites.
