Free shipping to the US. This comes from a smoke-free / pet-free home. Feel free to ask any questions. I welcome your comments as well :) Please note that you can combine colors, you don’t have to get all the yards you win in one color. I tried to take pictures of the actual gimp, but the colors came out slightly different than they actually look, so I made a chart on my computer with exact colors (except I couldn’t make the clear colors look clear, so just try to imagine those colors in clear). I will also send you instructions of how to make a couple projects. Also, check out my other auction with warm colored gimp! Good luck and happy bidding!

Well, if you win this, I'll send you instructions for 13 techniques which can all be used for making 13 different keychains, as well as other crafts :)

Oh forgot to ask, how many yards do you need to make a simple key chain?

For the most part, you usually need atleast one yard of each color to make a normal keychain. But, then this can vary depending on the technique used, as well as the length and width of the keychain. For the thicker keychains with more advanced techniques, you'd probably need a bit more. For thinner and shorter keychains, you'd need less. But, this isn't as hard as it seems! I've gotten the hang of most of the basic techniques back when I was five!

The amount of yards you'd get (in the description) is the minimum. I think I'll add a bonus for sure, how much depends on the bid!

Earlier, I said I'd give instructions for thirteen techniques to the winner. I found a couple of projects as well (including a simple dragonfly pin that would require only one yard of gimp, I'd have put up a picture, but someone placed a bid already!). Some of the techniques are: starter stitch, round stitch, square stitch, loop stitch, mixed stitch zipper pull, curlz, ez gimper stitch, classic lanyard stitch, cobra stitch, chinese staircase, 6 end box stitch, eight end box stitch, six end twist, bracelet wrap, as well as more!

I've put up the picture for the dragonfly pin on my other auction: Gimp in warm colors, so if you'd like to see it, check that out!

I've been thinking, and I've decided that I will include a keychain that I made of gimp as a bonus! It might give you an idea. Watch for more updates!

Thank you! Hope to see you bid! I used to buy gimp from a teacher who would sell it for $0.75 a yard back when I was in school. And that was like 4, maybe five years back. LOL!

Oh, and here's a hint for all you gimpers out there: instead of tying the ends together, I just cut the ends and take a match and carefully melt the ends together. The gimp doesn't burn in the process, just sort of glues together without any glue (and is dry in like 2 seconds). This makes your project look way neater, too!

Made these when I was young. Not too hard to make. Great auction.

I was the park director in a number of inner city parks for about 10 years, and "gimp" (or "pyrolace") was a mainstay of all our arts and crafts activities. Some high schoolers would come to buy and I had them teach the kids how to start them (otherwise I would be starting a few thousand throughout the summer). I got to be fairly proficient at this. I made an American flag (changing colors can be tricky) and both vibrant and pastel spirals with probably three rows. You must remember now, if you are going to attempt one with three or more rows, you have to make the center strand longer, or you will run out of it before the other colors. Also, rather than a match to securely seal the ends, I always used an old Teflon pan... One that has been retired from food preparation.
Just a note: When I started selling gimp (hmmm, around 1980, I think) it was a nickle a yard. LOL. Best of luck on the auction.
