I keep getting a "you were out bid on this auction" even though I put a high amount and I do not know what to put for a bid. Can I get some help?

What that means is that someone before you has put in a higher bid than the amount you are . How I win most of my auctions is I put in the amount that I will be willing to bid for that item and let it go up slowly as people put in their bids. Since Listia's bidding system is based on an automatic incremental system, proxy bidding is extremely easy . Proxy bidding essentially means placing your highest bid in upfront (the highest amount you are willing to pay), and Listia will automatically bid on your behalf up to the highest amount specified in increments. Listia automatically places the lowest bid possible, while at the same time making sure you are still the winning bidder. Hope this helps you understand this a little better =)
