The listing, 1963 Topps #46 TOMMIE AARON (Braves) rookie card in great condition! Hank Aaron's brother! has ended.
This is a 1963 Topps #46 TOMMIE AARON rookie card.
Tommie was a first baseman and left fielder for the Milwaukee Braves, who became the Atlanta Braves in 1966.
His biggest claim to fame is not as a player, but as the brother of Hank Aaron, one of baseball's greatest ever sluggers.
Tommie spent his entire career in baseball with the Milwaukee and Atlanta Braves organizations, including playing 7 seasons alongside his brother Hank Aaron. They became the first pair of brothers to play as teammates in a League Championship Series in 1969, losing in the LCS to the Miracle Mets. After retiring as a player in 1973, Tommie became a manager in the Braves minor leagues, managing the Savannah Braves and the Richmond Braves between 1973 and 1978. He then became a coach for the Atlanta Braves until 1984 when he died of leukemia. Many suspected that the Braves had him fingered to become the manager for Atlanta if not for his untimely death.
