100% Creslan Acrylic fiber
average knitting gauge-stockinette stitch
No. 5 needles:6 sts =1 inch
8 rows = 1 inch This is not a dark purple, but darker than lilac. The tag says iris.

what number thickness is it. I have gotten so many and when I get it, it is so thin like thread and you cannot knit anything with thread.

Well, it is thicker than thread, but not as thick as sport weight. I hope that helps, I got it after a great aunt passed, so I figure it is older. I have to add some and it will be worsted weight.

it is a 2 - which is like sock yarn I believe.
are both houses pet and smoke free?

thank you for the info, mine is smoke free, but we have pets, I keep yarn and fabric in my sewing room away from them, The great aunt, I can't say for sure. I didn't meet her until she was ill, I took care of her for a few months, Her daughter in law gave me all her craft items
