Questions & Comments
Actually the boards don't fry but the solder melts. you can "reflow" the solder if you know what you're doing.
by the time you pay a tech to repair the board you can buy another if you know where to go and im not giving away trade secrets you can get a new board for $40
The video chipset Solder needs to be "Re-Flowed". cheap, lead-less solder is the culprit. It CAN be Fixed, I have fixed many computers with this problem. It's not just a DELL problem. Although this model of DELL does have a poor cooling design, causing the motherboard to heat up; thus causing the problem. Also, the CPU could have also burned up. two possibilities for the ERROR CODE BEEPS. I can solve it. "WATCHING" :)
Ok, I just went on ebay and they have listings to repair the 7 beep error for $35 and up. Can you trust them? I don't know. I mean you would be shipping your laptop off to somebody that you don't know and who knows if you will get it back. I also found some motherboards on there for $90 and up.
That would depend on your local computer shop. There aren't many that will do it because there is no guarantee that it will work and it's a pain in the butt. besides with these M 5030 laptops the heat will just redesolve the solder. These were one of DELLS biggest mistakes. good laptop to tinker with though.
Yep the inspirons are bad about burning up the mother boards dell has a prob in keeping the inspirons cool so there fore they fry the motherboards you put a new board in no time till it burns up a built in defect from dell all their other models run god love dell but not the inspirons
Yep that sounds like a dell. Motherboard is around $120-$150 IF you don't buy it from DELL, If you know what you're doing you can replace it yourself if not, I know what I charge but can't say what your local tech will charge. STAY AWAY FROM GEEK SQUAD! Though.
In order to have better results with this auction, please add more details regarding your item. Your auction is missing a description or picture. These two things will go a long way in instilling confidence in potential bidders. We also highly recommend that you include pictures of the actual item that is being auctioned, (not just use stock photos from the manufacturer). For higher valued items, please include a notecard or piece of paper with your Listia username in one of the pictures of the actual item. This will also reduce the number of questions that your bidders will ask, and most importantly, you`ll get the best results with your auction.
Thanks for making these changes and good luck with your auction!
