The listing, RARE Vintage 1930's Amco 1/20 10k Gold over Sterling Mother of Pearl Necklace with Hidden Locket has ended.
***UPDATED***
As much as I love auctioning on Listia, I had to raise the credits for this auction because I found out the value of the locket and the excellent reputation of the maker. Sorry, but I cannot just give the locket away for next to nothing : (
Also, where can you find a beautiful quality locket that is at least 80 years old and in such great condition?
***Serious Bidders Only***
Beautiful "Signed" Amco Mother of Pearl with hidden locket has a sterling flower in the center with a white crystal center. It is in very good condition for being made in the 1930's. *****Found a magnifying glass to read the marking on the chain!!! It is signed AC 1/20 12K and is 20 inches long. So it is the original chain!
The back is stamped:
1/20 10K
ON STERLING
AMCO
I've had this for almost 40 years and have only wore it once or twice.
The bezel is 18mm x 24mm and the twisted rope design around the bezel is 22mm x 28mm. There are no chips on the mother of pearl face or sides. The bezel is smooth with no dents.
The inside celloid covered locket is 9mm x 14mm. The hinge is in very good working order without any visible signs of repair.
Sorry if my pictures do not show closer detail but I have found 2 other such lockets on the internet that were sold. So you can check them out. ONE WENT FOR $46 PLUS SHIPPING - Many years ago.
Finally remembered who gave this to me! It was from my biological father. He was an antique dealer but I don't remember much else about him, so I'm passing it on to someone else who can start a happy tradition with the locket. I have my Grandmother's Cameo necklace so I'm happy with that.
I will only send to a Listia Verified Address.
All other Listia Buyer and Seller Rules apply.
It would make a lovely gift for a special person in your life especially on Valentine's Day.
I WILL NOT lower the GIN or days of the auction.
Thank you for viewing my auction.
