The listing, Antique Cameo has ended.
I purchased this cameo from America's largest antique and collectible show (Portland Oregon) a couple years ago. I bought it thinking I would wear it all the time and all it does is sit in my jewelry box. I'm hoping that this will find its way to that special person who will love it so much they never want to take it off. There is a mark in the loop but I can't make out what it says or if it's just a dent. I wish I knew more about cameos because I love them.
I remember as a child I use to play with one my mother had and it was an oval shaped locket. I wish I could find one like that.
Questions & Comments
Very nice auction. Welcome to Listia. Fanned and watching. Hope you fan back. Thank you.
Thank you. I'd love to fan you back. I'm new to Listia and honestly not sure how to fan back. Do I just let you know through my message that I'm a fan? I'm sorry, I'm still learning how this all works.
The only marking I see is on the loop part. However, I can't tell if its a stamp or a dent. I'm usually pretty good at finding the markings too and there isn't anything on the backside that I can see. If you expand the first picture you should be able to see the mark I'm talking about. I hope this helps. Thanks
I also love cameos. I was lucky enough to have a hand carved given to me by the maker , I have had it more than 20 yrs, Still wear it all the time:) BTW fanned you
Beautiful! I love cameos too. I've gotten a couple on here already. If your looking for something in particular I'd type in cameo in search once in a while and just keep an eye out. They tend to have some really good antique and collectible auctions on here. Welcome to Listia and good luck finding your locket. Great listing! :)
