Description

The listing, Asian Tea Cup? China? Japan? Singed? has ended.

I tried to put as many question marks in the title as possible to give you an idea how much I know about this piece. It can't be too old, maybe 80's ? looks to be metallic gold paint? leaf? (probably not microwave safe :-) Looks like maker mark, or signature on the bottom. Looks to be in good condition, there is one nick in the side of the lid that is difficult to tell that it is there as it is not at all deep. I tried to show in photos. and measures about 3" x 3" Shipped anywhere USA with tracking.

I'm not sure about the artist, but this IS Japanese. The characters on the item are dressed in Heian period clothing and the women have really long hair and medium length bangs. Traditionally most Japanese artists who use these type of figures are referencing the novel "The Tale of Genji" by Murasaki Shikibu.

I think I should have had you write my description. It would have looked much better than all of the question marks, thanks :-)
