The listing, Navajo Sunset Orange and Jojoba Beaded Necklace 70s has ended.
This necklace was one of a large batch purchased in 1975 from Nellie Begay, a Navajo artisan living in Window Rock, Arizona. I ordered them from her when I was traveling to Germany and knew a jeweler there. We intended to sell them in his store, but through unforeseen circumstances the jeweler could not complete the purchase and I was left with several hundred necklaces that wound up in my mother's storage shed for many years. When she died in 2011 at 91, I started slowly sorting through things again.
This is one of the last dozen or so that I have left. It boasts sunset-orange colored seed beads with genuine jojoba accents. A few clear/yellow colored spacer beads accent the piece, which is approximately 26" in circumference if you don't include the sunburst pendant. The sunburst itself is nearly 4" in diameter.
