The listing, Crimson and White Navajo Jojoba Necklace 70s has ended.
This necklace was one of a large batch purchased in 1975 from Nellie Begay, a Navajo living in Window Rock, Arizona. I ordered them from her when I was traveling to Germany and knew a jeweler there. We intended to sell them in his store, but through unforeseen circumstances the jeweler could not complete the purchase and I was left with several hundred necklaces that wound up in my mother's storage for many years.
I'm just starting to weed through all her things, as well as the things that she stored for me decades ago. It's a slow process; I had to transfer the stuff from her huge pile to my garage when she passed on, and it's hard for me, at my age, to get motivated to look through everything. I've finally decided to get a few things going.
This is one of the last dozen or so that I have left of genuine Nellie Begay necklaces. It boasts crimson colored seed beads with genuine jojoba accents. The color is deeper and richer than the scanner shows. A few white spacer beads accent the piece, which is approximately 24" in circumference if you don't include the sunburst pendant. The sunburst itself is approximately 3.5" in diameter.
