Rebecca by Du Maurier"Rebecca" is a novel by English author and playwright Daphne du Maurier (1907-1989.) The novel was adapted into film and won the Oscar for Best Picture in 1941.
Of historic interest: this particular paperback was published in 1943 and bears the statement that it complies with the war effort restrictions on use of certain raw materials. It also notes that the book (in 1943) could be sent "to a boy in the armed forces anywhere for 3 cents". Fascinating and would be a wonderful gift for a historian or book collector.
