4 seed pods from my Mimosa tree. Humming birds butterflies and other beautiful creatures love this tree and enjoy its flowers all summer. Grows pretty fast gorgeous tree!!

after late summer they begin to drop seed pods that look like flat pea pods.If you look at the 2nd pic about the middle of the pic on the right side you will see some pods. my yard is filled with them pretty much all year long becauses they throw off so may pods..once they dry they turn brown and crack open with about 5-6 seeds. every year i have to get rid of alot of volunteer ones that come up from the seeds on the ground. these are really nice hardy trees here.

I can't say I know how it will grow in a northern state but i found this information on the web for you.

If you live in an area with harsh winters, your mimosa tree will most likely not survive the winter.

The best way to keep your mimosa tree alive in cold climates is to grow it in a container and move it inside during the winter.

what color is it when it blooms ?

a pretty pink that slowly fades as the bloom dies. The 2nd pic shows the flowers on mine at the end of last summer.
