The listing, ** VERY RARE ORIGINAL DISNEY employee/cast member nametag "REGGIE" from Vista United Telecom has ended.
This is a VERY RARE AND ORIGINAL employee / cast member nametag from the Walt Disney Company. More specifically from Vista United Telecommunications which was the phone company Disney owned.
It is white with blue lettering and logo. "REGGIE" is the name on the tag and as you can see it has the Mickey Mouse ears with a telephone dial pad inside. The nametag is 2-5/8 inches wide by 1-5/8 inches tall/high. The back has the pin (for pinning it onto a shirt) and has the "@Disney" name in gold ink on the back.
These were the primary form of identification around Walt Disney World and Disneyland properties and parks until September 11th (911) when the company tightened security and made all cast members wear a photo ID on a lanyard around their neck in addition to wearing their nametags.
Vista United was a partnership between Disney (who owned 51%) and Sprint United (who owned 49%). The partnership started in 1971 and lasted 25 years until it was dissolved in 2006.
The ONLY way these nametags could be obtained was by being an Vista United employee/cast member. They could not be purchased!
I obtained this nametag around 1997 when I worked for Disney.
This is extremely rare but I need credits so I'm offering it to collectors out there.
