Ladder yarn is basically two strands of thread held together by thinner thread, if you go to this link there is a picture on the right side with ladder yarn over a pencil, if you make that larger you can get a close up picture of what ladder yarn is :) http://www.yarnnecklaces.com/products/2-trellis-ladder-yarn-berries-cream.aspx
