can't charge it enough to boot it to the home screen,
it comes on and shows the apple icon...then it shows a battery symbol with one vertical red line at the end of the battery.the charging cable is frayed and damaged.can't get it to charge.

that is my opinion.the cord is frayed and has several knicks and bare places,and I'm assuming it isn't allowing it to charge.
