When I purchased the tree it just said indoor lemon tree, but a lot of people said they planted it outdoor and it got pretty big, but I planted indoors and mine is about 4 1/2 ft tall and is 5 years old. They are warm weather trees, in Fl, Tx, Ca, and the southern states the people plant them outdoors after they get some growth on them. The rest of us plants them in pots and bring in during the cold months. I have sent them as far as Alaska and the people said they arrived okay. But if you live up north right now what we need to do is wait until this storm passes and then send them up to you. So far they have been doing fairly good about traveling in the cold. The last lady I sent to said her's was a little droopy but she planted them in rich soil right away, and she said she had new leaves coming out after 1 1/2 weeks. So we can just figure out how cold it is where you are. I think they do fine until it gets down in the single digits then we need to wait a while and then send. If you get delivered inside they will be fine, but if you have a box outside in the cold, it might be hard on them, because they come from a warm room, but pack really wells

How will these be shipped? Will they be protected properly for places with colder climates this time of year?

So far I have shipped to Maine, Alaska and they have all survived the weather. One of them that went to chicago a few weeks ago, they lost a bunch of leaves but the lady said they have put back on all their leaves and look good. I put them into a container to prevent the Post office from working them over and then I pack a lot of wet paper towels in for them so they don't dry out and if they don't sit outside in the weather for long period of time they have done great.
