Brilliant clusters of apricot-colored flowers give firecracker flower (Crossandra infundibuliformis) its descriptive common name. The tropical evergreen grows outdoors in plant hardiness zones 10 and 11, but it's usually enjoyed as an indoor potted plant. Outdoor-grown firecracker flowers can grow up to 3 feet tall, but potted plants tend to reach only a 12-inch height. Planting it in pots outdoors can brighten up the garden while still allowing you to bring the plant indoors if a frost threatens.
