Wow wAy cool your son gets seeds I will have some up for bid. I might even be willing to send him sum free. I started planting stuff when I was his age! I am going to be 44 in less then a month.
Thank you, I will him check out your posting. He absolutely loves his plants. He has been in the local papers a couple of times for his unique skills and finds. He sunflowers grew to 10 feet and his water melons were Charleston Grays the largest grew to 28 1/2 lbs.. He love to experiment with his plants and totally want to understand everything about them. This child at Christmas didn't ask to go to the toy store but begged to go to Bob's Garden World instead.
My dream job is to work at Longwood Gardens have you ever taken him there. And you may want to consider the Master Gardener program they offer every two years when he gets older. It's free plus you get paid and live on site I am still going to try out for it the next time it's up. You wouldn't have to pay for college and those credentials are much better than that.
He has been there. He is planning on going to go to college at Stockton University, they just opened a brand new science wing! He visits there often. He went to Hershey Gardens and the head gardener was so impressed with him. He stopped what he was doing to take Steven on a special tour and talked with him for a long while. When Steven got back home he was on a quest to find American Chestnut Trees which are extremely rare these days due to diease. I couldn't believe it, he found one on the way to his grandmother's house.
I hope everyone will stay on my watch list until the very end. Otherwise I won't get the 100 watcher badge. Steven will be so proud if I earned this on his item. Thanks so much to you all for helping him with his future growing expeditions. My little Scientist!!
Wow lots of comments. Sorry I haven't been in touch but been busy bidding. I got plenty of extra seeds to send to your son if I get a chance I will send a list so he won't bid on stuff I am giving him I know I got some Christmas candles from here I can't use 50 so I wil share 5 of those so there is one thing you won't have to bid on.
Thank you. He is so thrilled with everyone's generosity in his love of plants. He said he will grow more plants then ever this year. He can't wait to start this spring,
I love this! Awesome that your son loves to plant....I do too! It is so rewarding to see a plant grow from a seed especially! Fan me and I will fan u back!
Your son sounds just like me when I was a child. It is great that you support him in it just like my grandmother did for me while she raised me. Charleston is one of the best melons to grow. I have seeds for an heirloom called Pink Russian watermelon they are smaller but taste wonderful. I got no room to grow them. Be glad to send some if you like. I got a lot of house plant cuttings and lots of cactus/ succulents to share does he like those. Save your points. I will send him something without bidding if you like. Just let me know
Yes, that would be wonderful. He loves to grow new plants that he never had before. I am sure he will love and grew all of them. He even plans for every spring what he is going to grow and where. He even has secret gardens all over the place. He grew Chinese Bottle Gourdes and Luffa in his secret gardens this past year.
