Description

The listing, HUGE COIN COLLECTION... A LOT OF SILVER COINS....264 COINS has ended.

Biggest coin auction here ever. Total of 264 coins with more or less 2 ounces of silver coins included. Some very valuable American pieces and valuable old foreign coins as well. I am going to describe everything to the best of my ability but some of the photos you will have to try to research yourself... mainly the one page with the random foreign coins in it. a few of those on that foreign page might be silver but I am Not sure. The first photo is of the entire lot... that is all of the coins you will be getting if you win the auction. The next 3 pics are of a Lincoln cent book 1941 dated to the 60's which is only missing a few dates and has many brilliantly uncirculated pieces in the book. the last page are holes with no dates those are just extra pennies mostly uncirculated from the 70's with extra steel pennies and also 3 rolls of unsearched OLD wheat pennies are included. 5th pic has a nice 1929s buffalo, 3 BU 60s & 70s nickels and 5 different V nickels. 6th pic LOOK CLOSE. I can't describe each one not enough room some might be silver so take a close look. 7th/8th pics is semi key 1879 indian cent which in the worst condition is $35 in the book. 9th are 4 diff. foreign coins with some decent numismatic value, 2 are Vatican coins, take a close look one has Mussolini on it. The 10th picture is of 8 foreign coins that are all guaranteed to all be silver. No room to describe. The next 8 pictures shows each silver coin, some are uncirculated and beautiful. about 2 ounces of silver just from those eight coins alone. Of the 8 definite SILVER coins 1-Is a stunning 1966 AU++ 500 Lire LARGE Italian silver 2-1953 UNC Canada Proof like 25cent 3-1960 Belgium 50 Francs LARGE silver 4&5 1929 Canada 25cent 6-scarce 1927R 5 lire Italy 7-1963 AU swiss 1/2 franc 8-1942 UK schilling. Take a close look at each coin because this is a big auction with a lot of value to it. Bid wisely and as always free shipping in the United States. I am happy to answer any questions thank you!

Frank,

It's so so nice to see an auction with some "real" value! Your gold certificate, I.H and silver coins should fetch you a very nice sum....not to mention everything else you've included....all very nice items for any collector, much UNLIKE the auction that ended two nights ago at over 82,000 credits!

The winner of that auction will be a very disappointed person when he/she receive their treasures and upon actually verifying the values of each coin with a respected and nationally recognized numismatic source (not a private individual), will then realize the value of their treasures that they spent 82,000 on, are likely worth less than a crisp new $20 bill.

I think people were bidding simply because of all the comments being made which were obviously from novice collectors or perhaps from individuals whom have NEVER been numismatic collectors...My husband described what we watched unfold, as sheep blinding following sheep as they jumped off the cliff!

Watchers of this auction can be assured that the winner of this auction will NOT be disappointed!

People should always exercise do diligence and research items before placing bids....not JUST on coins a precious metals, but on everything. It's so so simple to do with today's technology....

And anyone researching your auction will find that this is a very nice lot, indeed!

No offense intended to any members....Listia is a great venue but it's still smart to do a little research.

fanned and watching to see if I was right :)

ok, 2 oz of silver 40$
35 book $ maybe 5$ cash
all the others net value estimated 50$
so 95$ cash
times 500 for the credits so around 50.000
if you calculate the $ as 1500 cr. you endup at 150.000
not sure on the postage rate as it depends on the weight
that would be a surplus of cause

you are headed in the right direction but not there yet you must consider that for example those two ounces of silver coins.... some have numismatic value as quite a few of the other coins do for example the 1876 Indian Head Penny is $35 in the worst condition.... the currency in that condition can fetch quite a nice price..... it is just a huge collection and if you break it down I think it will be more than your guess but you are headed in the right direction thanks for your opinion you seem like a cool guy I will send you back thank you!

almost there!!! just wanted to say great auction, I've been watching since the beginning and I just wish I could be a contender for this lot. I'm sure everyone appreciates the value of a lot like this as much as I do. I've been a fan and I'm always watching.

Opps...accidentally hit the enter key just a little to soon....As I was saying, if I were a collector of international coins and if we didn't already have the majority of other coins (U.S. coins and currency) I would be jostling with others, to win this auction.

Jerry you are 100 percent correct that silver eagle was only to be given if it went over 100,000 credits he specifically stated that he would not put it in the auction and less he got his 100,000 credit badge! I dont need no stinkin badges! Lol

Hi pikachumanson...Yes, there was a silver eagle in that last auction but unless the seller changed his mind at the tail end of the auction, he initially stated that the silver eagle would NOT be included UNLESS the final bid was 100,000 credits or more. I hope for the winners sake, that the seller changed his mind and included the silver eagle as the majority of the other items in all honesty, were basically worth only the face value due to the dates and/or condition. It was a sorry sorry auction to watch! My heart goes out to the winner of that auction!

This auction however, is an entirely different situation. And if I were a collector of international coins and if I didn't already have the majority of the other coin

The most valuable thing in the last auction was a 93 Silver Eagle. This auction kills that! It's be a shame if you didn't break 100,000 credits on this auctions but, I suspect that last minute bidding should push you over the mark!
Jan 13th, 2014 at 10:49:46 AM PST by
Original
yes you are correct it always seems that the last minute is when people really push it and if its at this high already with a day and a half left I think I'm going to go way over 100k... fingers crossed!... but I don't know I think it definitely will!

I may have to buy some credits on this one. Its going to kill me. I just lost one by 10 points. Thats the one thing about Listia. You have to wait for your points and I have a bunch coming to me. So, I'll just buy a few until they get here. Surely this coin collection is worth a little $$$! Right?!?
Jan 12th, 2014 at 9:30:54 PM PST by
Original
Yes....... is has a very high retail value if you were to add each piece together.... it is already a great collection let alone an incredible starter collection!.... there was a big one the other day that one for 85,000 credits that wasn't worth much at all I felt bad for the winner..... and I am NOT being disrespectful to the seller or the winner it's just that people need to do a better research first in my auction I have just one penny and one bill that together are worth about 75 to 80 dollars.... not including the value of all of the silver coins, 3 rolls of wheat pennies.... with the second book filled and a bunch of foreign coins that some of them are very old and worth money.... and a few more odds and ends of value... yes this is one of the best big coin auctions I have seen here as a collector. I am NOT just saying that because its my auctions either... thank you good luck and happy bidding

Hi-sorry--i omitted the important point---the values which was stated pertains to dealer wholesale prices--it is the price that the average dealer would pay if you were selling the coin .-retail wise the price would be higher, of course

Aha....you are correct now! I hsppen to know that in the lowest.grade.for.thr 1876.indian cent a dealers.offers.around 22 to 24 bucks....todays.greysheet shows the 1876 in Good 4 fetching $35 to $37 among collectors. the dealers use the blue book and the collectors for buying use the red book thank you for the clarification I appreciate it and so does my auction!
