Description

The listing, Vintage Rose Brooch has ended.

Vintage brooch with clear acrylic ? that has roses somehow on the inside. They don't appear to be on the back or on the front. I am not sure how the roses are applied to this piece. The cabochon isn't glass. It is some kind of hard acrylic. It looks like glass. Clasp and pin are in fine order. There is a chip on the very top of the piece that is hardly noticeable but under magnification you can definitely see it. Still a wearable piece. Piece is unsigned.

I wish I knew. It is unsigned and that makes it hard to research. It's not antique I can tell that form the clasp but it may be from the 50's or 60's. I just don't know enough about the history of materials used in jewelry to date this piece. I stated what I could tell. It is definitely not glass but a hard clear plastic of some kind acrylic maybe. I was hoping people in the "know" could tell the age of the piece with that. I got it at an estate sale. My neighbor passed away and her children had an sale to clear out her things. It was a rainy terrible day in November and hardly anyone came. All the other pieces I got there that were signed were antique (turn of the century) all the way up to early 1970's. So my best guess is 60's or 70's because the clasp looks more modern but I really just don't know for sure.
