Description

The listing, Echinacea Collection - 11 Varieties - Bring on the butterflies! has ended.

Cone flowers (Echinacea ) are impressive plants with striking blooms atop a tall stalk. These daisy-like petals open and fold backward exposing the dominant center. Once established, echinacea returns year after year and spreads to cover a larger area. As an ornamental plant it creates a focal point in any flower garden and is especially attractive paired with rubeckia (Keep your eyes out - I'm going to have one posted soon!).

What garden is complete without an array of echinacea? Not only are they very drought tolerant perennials - they also bring butterflies to your garden! This auction will feature some of the most popular echinacea varieties available. You will receive:

Echinacea Double Decker - 30+ seeds

Aren't these medicinal as well? Or is that a different variety? :)

Some of the varieties are - medicinal products contain different species (E. purpurea, E. angustifolia, E. pallida) Different parts of each plant are used and each have a very different chemical composition. These are decoration only in my garden. Hope that helps!

New hybrids are developed all the time, but seeds from the hybrids don't always grow true. They often revert back to the parent plant. I think most Echinacea used in medicinal comes from the roots. First, I don't want to give up any flowers. Second, I'm not brave enough to try making my own and using it!
