The listing, **RARE and EXTINCT IN THE WILD** Be the ENVY of the neighborhood!! The Banana Lotus :) has ended.

This Auction is for 2 very rare seeds. I am posting this auction because I have been bombarded with Listians who do not have the credits for a GIN, but desperately want the seeds. So I started this auction with 2 seeds. This will keep the bidding lower and allow some people the chance to win these amazing plants. I also have another auction with the GIN option. I Always place the option for GIN because you might only get on here once a week and really not have the time to bid and check ect. This gives those people the chance to "buy" something they really want. I really am trying to give everyone a chance to own these. I love them and I am trying to repopulate them. They are very worthy of my time.(Please see below for GIN extras).

These are the most beautiful and amazing plants in the world (my opinion of course). They are SO rare and hard to find. I personally am the only person I know who has ever owned one.

TO MY LOYAL GIN CUSTOMERS:
I have cold stored 15 seeds in a plastic baggie. They will come already ready to go and already in their soil. They will be ready 12/28/13. So they are all set. I highly suggest still storing them for a week or so in your own fridge. This helps so much with FAST growth. This will up my shipping cost quit a bit, however you are paying a pretty penny and deserve it :)
The GIN will also include several other seeds. Some vegetable and some flowers. Pumpkin, vine, Squash, Black Hollyhock ect. I will also include a free gift. A 20 piece make-up set called Drama Queen that is all purples. If you wear lots of purple this is a great set. I will post pics when I get home tomorrow of the set!

These will grow in zones all the way to zone 5. They say zone 7 however, I live in New York in Zone 5 and I have many outside plants.

You can not. However you will be outbid and then your credits will be returned. If you bid higher then what is showing you can submit a support ticket at the bottom of any page and ask for it to be reduced. They will not delete bids though. In the future please make sure you read everything for each auction :) That way you dont get caught in an auction that you do not want. No worries though you will most def get outbid.

I wish I had seen this last month. I live in Georgia and have several banana trees in my yard. ,and 1 in my home. The trees were given to me several years ago and this year I had 2 lotus on my trees.Maybe next year.

You had two Lotus's on your tree's? Are they Musella Lasiocarpa. This plant does not produce real bananas. It is only 3 to 4 foot tall. It is not an actual banana producing banana tree. It does has a flesh that can be eaten if cooked very well, but not banana's. Also you had two lotus on your trees? I think you are mistaken about what plants you have and what plant this is. No actual banana tree produces Lotus. (The large banana trees that produce actual banana's) I just do not want you to think these are something that they are not. Please Google Musella Lasiocarpa. That is their Latin Name. Thank you :)

I can't imagine them doing well in Northern Michigan either (I have no clue about Zones and stuff) and it would be a great gift for my step mom. Bummer.

kinda question and comment, from what you are saying I am assuming if you have a pretty harsh winter it would be best to put these plants in a big pot and leave outdoors in spring/ summer, water regularly and bring them in doors when the temp reaches frosty type temps? I have such a big pot. Just wondering though in all seriousness do you know if it is tolerant to cat poo? I have had several plants die from my outdoor cats pooping in the pots. Would look so awesome full grown next to my giant elephant statue.

Well I have dogs and they survive just fine. Just make sure you are cleaning out the pot. in all honesty it is probably the pee that is killing them. Make sure you water them often. I have very hard winters here.
