The listing, 1930's-1940's US Navy Log !!! has ended.
WOW! I have here a beautiful example of our US Navy. This is a one-of-a-kind Find!!! It is 60-70+ years old and the front cover is made of caramel colored suede. On this suede you'll find a drawing of our Nation's Bald Eagle as well as a hand painted scene of our fine Naval Ships as well as the again hand-painted words Photo Log, US Navy.. On the first inside page you will find a very worn "Domain of Neptunas Rex". I'm getting this is a sworn pledge on behalf of the sailors to be dutiful & respectful to the "Ruler of the Raging Main". On pages 2, 3 & 4 are double-sided sheets for " Autographs of my Friends". On pages 5-9 are "My log and Diary" sheets also double-sided. Their are about 30 or more pages of thick, black paper which is very sturdy for a log. Inside I found two 8x10 photographs. The first one is of fighting men in uniform in front of an auditorium. The year on the flag they hold says "Class of 39-41. Their are 40+ some signatures on the back which is truly amazing. I cannot possibly list them all but here are a few; B. Harrison Baldwin Jr., Cpl.-{Corporal} U.S.M.C. Phila, PA. , Lisle David Crack Carlson, Nebraska...the list is just too large. The second photo is of our sailors posing in front of a fighter plane with the number 185. Their are 4 women amongst all of these men. Their are 15 signatures on the back of this photo. If anyone has any questions about the names on these photos, please ask me through Listia. As I can imagine their are plenty of families out there wanting pictures of "their" family's past. I know I checked for my Dad's name. Also, yes there is more, I found 2 floating negatives which are of men inside the ship. This Log book is in Pristine condition. The front cover has a water marks where someone spilled a few drops. But that's it-just a great book of memories. Well, shipping-{no pun intended}-will be $9.00 + insurance if desired. Paypal & concealed cash is accepted in USA. Thanks & Good Luck! Redd
