FREE: xbox 360 disc drive

For anyone who is watching or bidding on this, you just can NOT pop in a new disk drive and have your xbox work. Each drive is married to the board, you can however swap out the laser and use it in your old drive. If you do need to use this drive you have to swap out your old board that is on your old drive and either swap it or solder it onto this new one. If you have the tools to re-flash your system then you can flash your old board after you instead this new drive into your system. But fair warrning that Xbox "may" ban your system after doing so (flashing that is).

Hope this helps out anyone that is bidding or didn't know if this would work etc.

As a special note to some comments though, they can't just be swapped out. Good auction! No disrespect just helping listians. They must be flashed to work properly with system. Each disc drive is for that specific xbox 360 mother board. So you must hook up disc drive to your pc with sata cable and flash your consoles info to it. Great item tho!

Crap just opened up the system that I need to fix and it has a Hitachi drive in it, so it looks like I'm not going to bid. :-(
I was hoping it would have the ben-q or the one that you have. One of the most common drives that Microsoft used.

Also you guys need a bigger hard drive for your newly fixed xbox? Got an hour left on a 60GB auction says 20gb but I updated it to a 60GB ending soon!! Not trying to advertise on yours just will probably try to win this lol

Just Google xbox 360 flash disc drive and will have vids and tuts all over the place. I've done this at least twenty times for people. Wish more people had these up.

Would come in handy considering I have a console sitting in a room with this same exact disc drive that's bad. Console works just disc drive is shot. Lol. Good auction. Fanned and watching!
