FYI.....indeed it's a war nickel, but not a "silver" war nickel. Those were only from 1943-1945. But, correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks.

If it has a large "P" mintmark, then it is a silver nickel, even a 1942. If it has no large mintmark, then it is not silver. That's the difference. But yes, there were indeed silver 1942 nickels.
