The listing, Himilayan Blue Poppy - Meconopsis Benotifolia has ended.

The popular name "Himalayan blue poppies" is usually applied to Meconopsis which grow quite tall (1-1.5m, 3-5ft) and most have beautiful blue flowers. Given suitable conditions and care in cultivation, they should persist and flower year after year. However, in less than ideal conditions, they may prove to be short-lived perennials or in the case of the fertile forms, even monocarpic (i.e. flower and set seed only once before dying).

This auction will contain 20+ seeds that were purchased from a reputable seed distributor along with detailed instructions on germination and care. This is the LAST of my seed stash - don't miss out on your only opportunity!

I am in Zone 7b on the Eastern Shore of VA. Should they do well here?

They are hardy to zone 5 - so you would be fine - but they do have specific requirements to grow well. Hope that helps!

Thanks so much! Here's a little growing info that might help:

Himalayan Blue poppies are not difficult to grow, but are only suitable for particular sites: the soil needs to be neutral to slightly acid, moist but well-drained and enriched with leaf mold or humus to prevent stagnation; in a partially shaded site with shelter from cold, dry winds. They will thrive in areas with cool, damp summers.
The acidity of the soil will change the color of your poppies: the more alkaline the soil, the more violet the colors will be.
