This yarn I bought off E-bay, I was told it was Greek wool.
It is wool, it's dirty, it's like they didn't wash it before they spun it. it's not spun very well, as in it kind of falls apart here and there, It is knotted throughout some of the balls. I was going to throw it out but my husband says maybe someone would want it, maybe clean it and re-spin it or Maybe use it for felting.
It's actually very pretty colors...
The weights on these are:
Cream color(3 large balls) 29.5 ounces total weight
Tanish/grey(4 balls) 19.1 ounces total weight
Chocolate brown( 4 balls) 24.8 ounces total weight

I want to commend you for your honesty with this auction. I don't work with wool, but I'm going to share this on my fb page - hopefully will drum up some action. Good luck!

I saw your auction while browsing the "crafts:other" category, and although I am not a fibre artist, I also definitely love your honesty. Going to check out what else you have listed for that very reason. Yay, you. :-)

i actually like lanoliny wool, but if you're felting, you have to wash the finished piece anyway, so this should work for me! So... I bid everything i've got. ;)

Thank you. I'm happy to hear that someone can use it. I paid a lot for it and was really bummed when I got it and it wasn't what I had expected. Good Luck!!

It's not brittle, it's soft, it just falls apart every so often, like it didn't get spun right...
It's itchy wool...

:) That's an idea. There's enough of it.

when you say dirty, do you mean there is straw and bits of other materials spun in it or do you mean it has a lot of lanolin?

Both :( There's not a lot of straw, but you can feel the dirt and lanolin when you're working with it. I made a blanket with the cream and the chocolate, when I finished it, I soaked it overnight in soapy water (Dawn), it cut the oils and softened the blanket up a bit :) I never worked with the tannish yarn...

F & W! Kudos for being honest and giving a full & detailed description. Lots of auctions have so little info that you don't want to bid for fear of what they aren't telling you. Good job!
