These are great in a container or in the flower bed. Just put the small roots in the ground. Very fast growers and they will spread. You will get 3 babies. I live in zone 9-10 and mine are in the ground mostly and they come back every year. Soak the roots for a few hours and plant just the roots which are small. Water and wait. They are very fast growers. You can fertilize when you plant
