I gave my cable up for one of these, and you can get all sorts of private channels you can add manually online to your Roku. I have 350 channels and only 2 are paid (Hulu Plus and Netflix) so for under 20 bucks a month I have like the most expensive package cable offers.

The HD is the Roku1.
I have XD and it's the 2.
The 3rd one has the number 3 on top
They're all good and they're defeating the monopoly of cable. YAY!

We got one a year ago and were able to cut our cable down way down. Only because we were diehard fans of sons of anarchy and a few other shows that we could not get on roku yet. But they are adding more and more all the time and they have channels that you can stream it very easily from your computer, so if shows are on line you can get it sent to roku. We have a roku3 we just ordered as well coming! Love it!!! Huge money saver... Winner will love it!!!!

This is over my credit as well, but actually it has a lot of private channels, so there are a lot more channels available than some people think. You can find them here:

They have live streaming, original content, international content, children, adult, and religious channels. All around good tv. Most people I know just subscribe to three or four channels and watch everything else free. That's how amazing it is. I love the apps that let you watch your videos and pictures on roku too. All around great device. I definitely would bid on this if it wasn't so far past my credit limit.

I also want to point out that people who don't have HDTV but their television still has av outlets can use AV cords instead of HDMI. They just have to make sure they are on the channel for AV and use the yellow/white/red outlets shown on the back of roku (in the picture, next to HDMI outlet)and identical outlets on their tv. That's all :)

I have a roku and live in canada, it is a great device, but channels are limited in canada, and Im not sure that one bought in the U.S. will work in canada. I bought mine at walmart, so just some info to think about.
