I have had this bracelet for several years but it hasn't been worn much at all. It was given to me by an ex boyfriend for a present. As beautiful as it is, I didn't wear it much because I wear white gold instead of yellow gold, so it was only worn when I thought that he'd notice! It is stamped "14K" and it's 7" long. I weighed it on jeweler's scales, and it weighs 7 grams! The links are solid, not hollowed out gold like some bracelets I've seen (those links usually bend if hit too hard).. but this one won't do that. Then I went and looked at the current price of gold and WOW! But... Listia has been good to me lately, so I'm giving back! 24 k gold is solid 100 percent pure gold. It is rarely ever used in Jewelery becausae it is soft and pliable and wears away. 14k gold is a mix of metals but approximately two third pure gold. Ten karat is same way mixed with other metals. Jewelers mix pure 24 k gold with the metals for durability. Walk into any fine jeweler and you'll find jewelry mate from ten, fourteen, and eighteen karat gold not twenty four karat. Overlay means its a cheap ring with a thin layer of real gold on top fair effect but often wears away quickly leaving jewelry that tarnished. Gold filled has something else on outside and a bit of real gold on inside... its basically a selling point but is not superior to to overlay.

with no disrespect intended : if this is real gold and at 7 grams of it why not sell it to a jeweler. gold right now is going for 1100.00 $ per oz i think. maybe im wrong ? but i do know its either a gram or oz at $1100.00 . great auction for someone if its real. i say this with no disrespect intended just letting you know what you got. happy bidding !

Yes I checked online thevprice of gold before I listed it and honestly I considered selling it. But it bothered me to sell it for scrap when it was a pretty bracelet. . I've been lucky enough on listia to win some great ires with my points... for one I won a $500 camera and I love this concept. Its not my first priority to make a Buck but to enjoy this website, the community and the satisfaction it gives others to win something they will cherish. I'm not rich but my family are lucky to have stable government jobs and this is entertainment I really enjoy.

Just curious was it used when you purchased it because a hundred actually isn't alot for 14K 7 gram bracelet something like this new would cost a couple hundred at least so that is why I ask?

It was closer to $150 actually... It was a gift and he didn't tell me, but I saw his credit card bill! No it was brand new, of course it's used now. Gold prices were not nearly as high a few years ago as they are now. Now this bracelet would cost quite a bit more!
