These appear to be brass. The little old lady we bought them from said her husband made them. I honestly am not sure what she said is true or false. I would like to hope and think I didn't get scammed by a little old lady, but in today's world, who knows!

I love them but we do not and will not use them.not enough if we have someone over which is the only time I would get fancy with napkins. I want them to go somewhere and be used.
