Cross stitch is a type of sewing that creates an image on cloth (aida) cloth. you make an x within the holes of the fabric with colored thread. This colored thread mimics the image you are trying to make. A good way to see what they are is go to a craft store and ask to see the cross stitch patterns or kits. The fabric and thread is not so expensive and when finished become beautiful art and heirlooms. I do not know if you have ever seen old sewing that people framed of the alphabet or floral embellishment on pillowcases or napkins, well that was cross stitch.

it is a lot of fun and these projects turn out to be family heirlooms. I did one for my daughter the alphabet with sunflowers. She has framed it and intends on handing it down to my granddaughter when she gets older. The make wonderful gifts and not only used as pictures. I have used my work on a foot stool, picture, on a sweat shirt, on a throw blanket and wall hanging. So you are not limited to a certain thing.

It really is not hard and if you can crochet than you can do these. It is making an x in between the holes in the fabric by colors. That simple and you can look up how to on the net. Very easy and I make sure that you get the easiest way possible. I use 14 count aida cloth which is easy on the eyes. I only use up to 50 colors on any given pattern. You can get the DMC threads at any craft shop or walmart. The aida cloth is inexpensive as well and you can purchase it there also. You will be getting the pattern real cheap as I usually sell these between 10 and 100 dollars. Gearing up for the craft shows in the summer and figured I could make something with these now.
