Up for auction is a 1942 "P" Jefferson silver War nickel. This coin is circulated with good detail. Type: Jefferson Nickel Year: 1942 Mint Mark: P Face Value: 0.05 USD Total Produced: 57,873,000 [?] Silver Content: 35% Silver Weight: 0.0563 oz.
Additional Info: A wartime nickel with no P is not a silver wartime nickel. If you see a P you are holding a silver nickel. Wartime nickels were issued in 35% silver from 1942-1945 as Nickel was a resource needed for the World War II. These Nickels are usually ugly and grimy but a great way to stock up on silver at near spot or under.
Questions & Comments
"Silver" war nickels were only from 1943-1945. You should revise the auction title because it is rather confusing to those that don't know the dates. Just some advice.
