Description
The listing, Doctor Who 3-D Printed PLA Plastic Tardis has ended.
We recently purchased a MakerBot to use in our home. This is a machine that makes 3-D designs out of plastic. This is a Tardis from Doctor Who made from PLA plastic - this plastic is environmentally friendly and made from corn. You can see it's dimensions in some of the pictures of me holding it and I even sat it next to my husband's Doctor Who Disappearing Tardis Mug! (2 1/2 inches tall, 1 inch wide and about 1 inch deep - although, "It isn't bigger on the inside" - so hope you enjoy the little logo that is on the bottom instead!) We printed another Tardis that us Whovians like better - so this one is up for bids! I will ship out the next day after getting your Listia-verified address. Comes from a smoke-free home! Thanks for looking!
Questions & Comments
It is total clean. I was wondering if any Whovian would be interested in a Barbie made into a Weeping Angel?
MakerBot just came out with some new models - but we like the one we got. Pretty affordable, but I know there is at least one other type of 3D Printer that is cheaper. I think it is called UP
My husband is a Tech Ed teacher and he already had one ordered for his school that he figured out and so this one was very similar. It comes with a manual - but he knows how to draw objects with programs like AutoCad. This is just one of the many ones you can use online at ThingiVerse...nice if you aren't great at drawing your own objects.
Thanks. I think 3d printing is going to be huge in the next couple of years. I do some crafting with models and having a machine that can do things like the TARTIS would open a lot of creative possibilities. Besides...I love Doctor Who.
I know! I'm having him print out lots of Doctor Who for us - I have some Tardis rings that really don't fit my finger that I'm thinking of listing next.
Does it have to be all blue or could you possibly make the sign on the front white, and windows gray, and the banner at the top actually say "police public call box"
It is all blue - the most colors a 3D Printer from MakerBot can make is 2 at a time. Supposedly, you can paint some of the plastics - I think you can with PLA. I'm not painting it - I have absolutely no talent for that. Sorry.
