The listing, Assorted 1800's &1900's Dug Bottle + Stoneware has ended.
I would like to first thank you kindly for viewing this listing .I am offering for your consideration a verity of dug bottles from my Holyoke Ma.bottle diggings
All bottles will need better cleaning and one in particular will need a much stronger cleaning solution this is the bottle with the white detergent residue this bottle is from 1890's .I have cleaned these Detergent bottles in the past with some hard work .
I believe there is a product that will work easier Like soaking it with vinegar and Oxy Clean .I have also used Gas.that works but you will need to remove the Gas smell after but its worth the effort .
I also have an 1800's Blue Label ketchup bottle embossed on the front .one of the earliest era of when they started making ketchup bottles prior to this they
would Make there own ketchup and store them in Mason Jars.
Now for the very cool and rare item this is the little stoneware picture this dates also 1890's and is a small size replica of the large picture that was use at the time I believe this was a child's play house toy or just a nick nack Figurine I have not dug or seen one that is of this age very collectible .
In the photo it sits on what is known as a salt plate also 1890's back in the day they would fill salt on this plate and just take a pinch and sprinkle it on there food .I have dug a few of these and are much more common of a find .
There is also a blueish Green Mason jar 1800's to very early 1900's Pat.Nov 30th 1858 very whittled with a large air bubble right on the embossing and another on the back also large .This is a sweet little set of bottles that tell a story of how people lived and what they used back when life was a little kinder and farms where more abundant.
I dig to just get a taste of what it must have been like to live back in the era .I hope you enjoy viewing this History of Glass From the Past . Thanks DiggerLarry
